Multi-Day tours: Deposit is required to hold booking, amount varies by tour.

Payments:

We accept cash, money order, e-Transfer, Visa or Mastercard. We do not accept American Express. Money orders can be made out to Target Tours. E-transfers can be sent to [email protected] which is set to autodeposit. If your bank requires a security question, please contact us directly.

Freestyle Payments:

After you pay your deposit we’re happy to offer payment options to make it easier to look after the remaining balance of your trip. We can arrange monthly payments or you can call in and pay any amount at any time between deposit and final payment. Our only rule is that all funds must be collected before final payment. If you would like to set up monthly payments please indicate upon booking so we can share further details.

Multi-Day tours:

Deposits are non-refundable. Once the final payment is made, the tour becomes fully non-refundable. This is because we have commitments to suppliers that we will need to honor. Cancellation penalties from 3rd party suppliers such as cruise lines or land operators will be non-refundable by Target Tours and will be indicated on each tour page in the pricing.

We recommend purchase of Travel Protection to protect your investment. Please see Insurance details below. For international tours, if you do not purchase travel insurance from us, you are required to provide proof that you have travel insurance.

Note: Should the payment and/or cancellation terms for your tour vary from what is listed above, you will be notified upon booking and terms will be listed on your invoice.

If one or more persons cancel or change their reservation, the remaining roommate(s) will be charged as per the new number of passengers sharing the room.

Should Target Tours cancel a tour due to a lack of interest anyone who is currently signed up for the tour will be refunded what they had paid to date. We will reach out in advance of final payment to inform all booked clients of the situation. While this is uncommon, it can occur to any group tour Target Tours offers including Partner Tours.

Medical and cancellation insurance (also known as Travel and Medical Protection) is not included in tour packages. Contact Target Tours (or visit our Manulife Page) for more information or a quote.

Travel and medical protection is strongly recommended for your protection while traveling. Insurance should be purchased along with initial payment to cover any unforeseen emergency to you, your traveling companion, or your family. For international tours, if you do not purchase travel insurance from us, you are required to provide proof that you have travel insurance.

By joining one of our tours without sufficient emergency medical coverage, you agree not to hold Target Tours responsible for any costs incurred should an emergency medical situation arise. Should you opt not to purchase cancellation/interruption insurance and it becomes necessary for you to cancel your trip, the above cancellation terms will be implemented.

A valid Canadian passport is required for all tours outside of Canada. Having a criminal record may prevent you from crossing the border. Target Tours is not responsible for any passenger who is denied passage into the United States or other countries and that person is responsible to find his or her own transportation home. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Passengers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum ratio of three children to one adult. Passengers 16 and under who are not traveling with both parents/guardians must complete and bring a consent to travel form.

While cannabis is legal in Canada it is illegal to transport cannabis across the Canadian border. This includes medical cannabis. Passengers are not permitted to travel with marijuana/cannabis across any borders while travelling with Target Tours. Failure to follow this policy will result in the passenger being responsible for their own return home should they be denied entry into the country they are trying to enter, at their own cost, and they will not be permitted to continue with a tour. Full cancellation charges of the tour will apply. The passenger will also be subject to the legal ramifications of attempting to bring an illegal substance into the country in which they are trying to enter. For more information on this subject please reference the following governmental link HERE.

  • Target Tours acts as an Agent for the passengers with respect to the dining, attractions, admissions, transportation, and accommodations.
  • Target Tours will not assume responsibility for any claims, losses, damages, cost or expenses arising out of personal injury, accidents or death, loss, damaged or delay of baggage or other property, or delay. We strongly recommend both medical and cancellation/trip interruption insurance  (also known as travel and medical protection) for your protection and security.
  • Target Tours cannot accept responsibility for itinerary changes, changes in accommodations, transportation or attractions, reserving  the right to substitute arrangements of equal value as deemed  necessary.

We do our best to accommodate special requests. Any accommodations requests (accessible room, adjoining room, cot, etc) must be submitted by final payment. Please inform us, when booking, about any special dietary needs.

Some motorcoaches now are outfitted with seat belts. When seat belts are provided on a motorcoach we encourage all participants to wear them for their safety. When a motorcoach has seat belts we require that anyone under the age of 16 wear it while the coach is in motion.

If you suffer from motion sickness, we do require a note from your doctor prior to departure. The first five (5) rows will be set aside for those with motion sickness.

Carry-on luggage is the passengers responsibility, should be lightweight and easy to store inside the coach in the compartments over the seat.

You are allowed one standard size suitcase per person on all multi-day tours. Maximum weight for luggage on cruise tours is 50 lbs.

No consuming of alcoholic beverages or smoking will be permitted on the motorcoach. The bus stops every 2 – 3 hours during travel days which allows for opportunities to smoke. Please respect the areas that you may be visiting during the tour and their specific smoking policies.

Your Tour Director and Driver play an important role in making your vacation as memorable and hassle-free as possible. While optional, gratuities are a great way to show your appreciation. The suggested industry guideline is $6.00 to $8.00 per person, per day for your Tour Director and also your Driver. This should be extended on a voluntary and individual basis at the completion of the tour. Target Tours will provide labeled envelopes when you arrive to your pick-up location on the day of departure.

Cruise Staff – If you are travelling on a cruise ship you will be charged a rate per person per day in U.S. dollars to your ship account for on board gratuities. By booking with Target Tours, we offer the option to pay this amount in advance in Canadian dollars. We will remind you of this at Final Payment.  If you wish to compensate a staff member an additional amount, you can do so directly. Also, keep in mind any onboard drink purchases are charged an automatic 20% gratuity for bar staff. Several of our cruise tours often include prepaid cruise gratuities so be sure to check the inclusions in case they are already part of your package.

Your emergency contact should be someone who is prepared to assist in case you or your travel companion must leave the tour unexpectedly, most commonly due to unexpected medical issues. They should be aware they are your emergency contact, have a copy of your itinerary, as well as a copy of your passport and insurance information.

This individual will be responsible for contacting your insurance company in the case where you and/or your travel companion are unable to do so yourselves and will require these details in order to assist you in an emergency. If you would like to add or make a change to who you have listed as your emergency contact please contact Target Tours at least 7 days prior to your trip.

For more information on who should be your emergency contact please read our blog post HERE.

Children are a welcome addition to our tours. Children must be toilet trained and mature enough to sit for long periods of time. For these reasons, we do not recommend that children under 6 years of age travel by motorcoach.

Minors under the age of 19 traveling must be accompanied by an adult in the same room. Minors under the age of 16 and traveling with only one parent must have a signed and notarized travel waiver/consent to travel form by the other parent in order to leave the country.

Proof of vaccination

At this time, we are not requiring passengers to show proof of vaccination. If you are concerned that your travel destination may require proof of vaccination, please contact our office team and we will look into it for you. As the Covid situation continues to evolve, we will update as best we can in terms of requirements.

Final Payment:

Once final payment is made, the tour becomes non-refundable. If you decide to cancel before departure, you can make an insurance claim if you meet the policy criteria or you can opt to transfer the paid funds to another tour. Travel credits are no longer offered. If we need to cancel a tour because of the Government of Canada Travel Advisory level has increased, we will reschedule the tour to another date and transfer payments to the rescheduled tour.

Insurance:

If anything, this pandemic has taught us that travel is an investment so having tour trip insured makes sense. But not all insurance is created equal. You need to shop around to make sure you are properly covered and “read the fine print”. We offer Manulife and our Premium Protection Plan is our go-to insurance which main benefit provides Cancel for any Reason up to 7 days prior departure and get 80% of your trip cost back. This insurance needs to be purchased within 72 hours after deposit.

Some insurance policies have Covid-19 coverage while others may only cover medical and not quarantine or isolation expenses. You should ensure with your own insurance what coverage you have.

Emergency Contact:

You must provide us with a contact name and phone number for emergencies while you are on tour. This person must know you have listed them as your emergency contact so there will not be any surprises.

Government of Canada Risk Levels and Travel Advisories:

The Government of Canada has four Risk Levels when it comes to permitting travel outside the country.

Level 1: Exercise normal security precautions

There are no significant safety and security concerns. The overall safety and security situation is similar to that of Canada. You should take normal security precautions.

Level 2: Exercise a high degree of caution

There are identifiable safety and security concerns or the safety and security situation could change with little notice. You should exercise a high degree of caution at all times, monitor local media and follow the instructions of local authorities.

IMPORTANT: The two levels below are official Government of Canada Travel Advisories and are issued when the safety and security of Canadians travelling or living in the country may be compromised:

Level 3: Avoid non-essential travel

There are specific safety and security concerns that could put you at risk. You should reconsider your need to travel to the country, territory or region. If you are already in the country, territory or region, you should reconsider whether or not you really need to be there. If not, you should consider leaving while it is still safe to do so. It is up to you to decide what “non-essential travel” means, based on family or business requirements, knowledge of or familiarity with a country, territory or region, and other factors.

Level 4: Avoid all travel

There is an extreme risk to your personal safety and security. You should not travel to this country, territory or region. If you are already in the country, territory or region, you should consider leaving if it is safe to do so.

Important: If the risk level to visit a country that is on our tour is at three or four at the time of final payment, we will cancel the tour and provide refunds for deposits unless there is a non-refundable portion from our supplier outlined in the “Important Pricing Info” on our website.
