Quebec City

Enjoy a complimentary breakfast and meet your Tour Director. Start exploring this historic city with a guided tour. Learn the history of the only North American fortified city north of Mexico whose walls still exist. Quebec City was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, as the “Historic District of Old Quebec”. Founded in the early 17th century by French explorer Samuel de Champlain, the city celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2008. We will board our motor coach and stop to visit the Basilica of Saint-Anne-de-Beaupre, a church credited with many miracles of curing the sick and disabled. We will also make a stop at Montmorency Falls before returning to Old Quebec.

This afternoon we will visit Le Grand Marché. As Quebec City’s newest gourmet food destination, Grand Marché gives visitors a unique opportunity to interact directly with over a hundred producers and processors from the region. Inspired by the world’s most iconic markets, Grand Marché de Quebec has something for everyone thanks to its wide variety of exceptional products and diverse activities available to the public. The market is located in the heart of the city and is a must-see destination for those looking to try the local cuisine. After dinner (not included), you can take the 10 minute walk from your hotel to the Hotel de Ville where you will find the two locations of the outdoor German Christmas Markets located across the street from one another. The market is the place to be during the holidays. Set in the romantic and beautiful Old Quebec the sights, sounds, and smells of this market will transport you to Europe. The wooden kiosks and scintillating lights takes you to a spectacular German wonderland. The kiosks feature many different types of foods such as hot pretzels, gingerbread, mulled wine, German Christmas cakes, and of course, strudels.  There are also incredible gift kiosks with wares straight from Europe as well as locally made treasures. You can also choose to explore other locations in Old Quebec. The market finishes at 8:00.

Please note that this is an outdoor market and that you should be prepared to dress accordingly for winter weather in Quebec City. Times are subject to change.
