In early March, I had the fortunate opportunity to be invited by Visit Britain, Visit Scotland, and Connection Tours on a 7-day familiarization tour of Scotland and London. The visit was more than an introduction to the destinations, but it also became an inspiration to look differently at our tour product and how we present it. The tour itself was made up of travel representatives from across Canada and included both travel agents and tour operators, like ourselves. We were 10 people on a 16 passenger Mercedes mini-coach and our driver guide...read more

When you call to book with Target Tours we always ask if you require travel insurance and a quote from us. You should never travel outside your province, let alone the country, without proper travel insurance. I’m not going to list off all the things that can happen, you probably have already heard the horror stories. What I am going to do is try to make a distinction between comprehensive travel insurance and minimal coverage. Often group insurance through an employer or credit cards has some level of travel insurance that comes with...read more

I am sitting at Detroit Airport waiting for my flight home after spending the previous two days at a training course called “Creating a Vision of Greatness” offered by Zingtrain in Ann Arbor, Michigan. How did I get here? Well, there’s a story behind that! My wife and I are the co-owners of Target Tours and have been operating the company for 8 years. Every year our vision was basically to have the next year be better than the last. We had goals and targets to work on but often lacked a clear vision of what the business...read more

Like Travel Insurance, an emergency contact is not a “sexy” thing to talk about in travel but it is an absolute necessity. You never want to think about what could go wrong on your vacation, it’s supposed to be fun and relaxing, but these topics are essential and should always be given more than a passing thought. Travel Insurance should be an obvious one. No matter how healthy you are you should ALWAYS travel with it, but something you probably don’t spend a lot of time considering is your emergency contact. If...read more

Justin MacPhee, our amazing Tour Coordinator, recently completed a research trip to Nashville & Branson during our group tour this November. Upon returning, he is excited to share his highlights and tips on what to see and not to miss. At the end of this blog post, we also introduce the 2017 Nashville trip, what we are calling “Donalda’s Farewell Tour”. As an avid lover of country music and live music in general, I was excited to be given the opportunity to visit Nashville and Branson recently. It was truly the...read more

While sitting in one of the oversized deck chairs overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, I realized how important it is to take the time to treat ourselves. As I sail on the Norwegian Dawn, I smile thinking about our clients who have already been lucky enough to enjoy what the Dawn has to offer. I also realize how excited I am to share this experience with our new and existing clients who will join one of our tours on board this wonderful ship. This was my first time experiencing Norwegian Cruise Lines. This trip was a Familiarization trip with my...read more

Next up in our series on “Best Group Activities in…” is our neighbor to the Island, New Brunswick! Like a sibling, sometimes we tease New Brunswick for being our “drive through province” but that is only because it connects our home province of PEI to so much! NB borders Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Maine, USA so we often pass through during our outbound product. When we have a chance to stop in New Brunswick it makes us proud that Canada’s only bilingual province is part of the Maritimes. While you might be...read more

What Our Guests Say
Thanks for the memories again! We hope to go back in November with your tour group.
We could tell the Tour Director put a lot of research in before the trip to share information as we drove. Our favorite memory was the warmth and friendship of the other NASCAR fans at the track.
The little extras like water, chocolate, help with filling out customs forms, coupons, trivia, jokes, and tail-gate party are examples of the things that are certainly not required but definitely show how much Target Tours tries to make the trip enjoyable for everyone.
He was the poster boy for customer service.
Everyone had a fantastic time and I was so glad to be part of it.
The NASCAR tour was a wonderful trip with a comfortable bus, great hotel rooms, and an exceptional driver and tour guide.
Our Tour Director took great care with all the details and the shows were terrific. The freedom to do your own sightseeing was a bonus for returning customers or the more adventurous. This trip was fun. Thanks to everyone, I will go again.
I haven't stopped talking about the tour since I got home. Just the little things you do mean a lot. Water, chocolates, bingo, movies and horse races: what else could you want. You are definitely doing things right.
The driver was exceptional and the tour guide kept us informed, entertained, and at our destinations on time. The entire experience will always be a favorite memory.
Thanks John and Lynn for making our first cruise a dream come true. We will be counting the months to out next cruise in 2013.
We so enjoyed our trip to and from Boston as well as the cruise to Bermuda. Thanks for thinking of us with dinner and group picture, a real night to remember.
Many thanks for all the great memories.
I felt very safe and well informed during the whole trip.
The atmosphere on the bus was so relaxing, it made the whole group comfortable enough to get to know each other. We had lots of laughs on the trip.
Seeing Luke Bryan in concert was just unreal and no words could describe it. A little shopping time added too.. What more could a girl ask for? This was a great relaxing trip spent with friends!
Our favorite memories include walking into Yankee Stadium for the first time, arriving in Times Square, and developing a better understanding of NYC life and layout.
We had an excellent trip to New York. It was well-planned and we were well treated everywhere we went.
Our bus driver did a great job of driving through New York and he and the tour director were very knowledgeable. We're already planning on our next trip!
Far exceeded expectations - The people on the bus, the laughs and new friends, the feeling of safety and security at all times were far beyond what I had expected. It was a privilege to have had this experience of a lifetime.
The reservations process was tops! The staff is super friendly and always willing to help out. And what can one say about John? He is the best! So organized and professional. John knows the areas all along the trip and shares this knowledge. He is very personable - constantly making sure everyone is comfortable. I spoke to a few new people on the tour who could not get over the pleasure of the trip - they spoke so highly of John's knowledge.
Our seats at the races were awesome! The tailgate party after the race and meeting up with people we've met on previous tours was our favorite memory.
Seeing Times Square and Yankee Stadium (even if the Jays lost) were the highlights.
The group came together as a family because of their attitude.
It was exactly what we wanted. An amazing experience and stress-free. I would definitely recommend Target Tours to others!
Thanks for the memories and great service!
The travels are now over and we are back to work today with feelings of satisfaction to be part of what can only be described as the best time anyone could ask for.
The hotel, care to detail, and little extras made the trip good for all. They explained everything that was happening at the race to those who had never been before. Our staff came away very satisfied. I would not hesitate to do this again.
Thanks Lynn and John
